Was it worth it?

AN OBVIOUS ANSWER TO A UNIQUE ADVENTURE

Now that this article has ballooned into a much wordier version of what I had initially planned, I can happily keep this last section nice and short. Was it worth it? The answer can only be a resounding yes!!! Of course it was worth it. Despite all the shortcomings, the lack of organization, the inevitable mishaps that accompany an undertaking of this scale – in most cases quite understandably so, the Rakayib Camel Caravan 2019 can only be described as a fantastic adventure of a lifetime and a huge success. We came to experience the desert, to cross the Empty Quarter, the biggest sea of sand in the world. We did all that, but received so much more… Living and travelling with some of the most special people I’ve ever met, a magnificent group of travelers, bedouins, and organizers who all came together to conquer countless challenges in order to make this journey possible. People from all corners of the world and all walks of life that were kind, selfless, generous, and enormously supportive of each other. A prime example of terrific team work and mutual understanding.

In the end it is not only the beautiful desert, but first and foremost the people that made this trip such a unique and formidable experience to me. Thank you all for being part of this beautiful journey!
